Allsprings House
Allsprings House was built in 1838 by James Lomax. The tudor style building boasts a 5 bay 2 storey facade to the front with a double pile 2 bay wing to the rear. With its slate roof and chimneys incorporated in hamper to stairwell rising through the centre of the building it would have been an extremely impressive building in its day. Not much is known about the history of the house other than it was owned by the Lomax family of Great Harwood who also owned nearby Clayton Hall. The house was also used at some point as a hostel for polish refugees.
