Oswald House
Oswald House was constructed during the late 19th century with a 4 storey extension added more recently. The last known use of the building was as offices although it has had various uses throughout the years. Planning permission was granted in 2007 to convert the building in to 24 1 and 2 bedroom apartments. This planning permission expired in may 2010, a renewal was submitted in august 2010 but later withdrawn. The building was sold recently at auction for the sum of £77,000 but at present it is unclear what the new owners have planned for the building. At present the building from the outside looks to be in a reasonably decent state but that illusion soon changes once inside. The floors, ceilings, staircases and roof have collapsed in several places and water gushes in from all around in anything more than moderate rain. Even the ground floor isn't safe with a 4ft void under it and in one area a 12ft drop in to a cellar below. I don't encourage anyone to enter this building as it really is a serious accident waiting to happen.
